QUALITY STATEMENTS

 

Quality statements are the valuable documents prepared by the organizations, as part of their strategic planning. Quality planning is mainly started with and depended on these documents. These are Vision statement, Mission statement and Policy Statement.

Generally, these three statements are together called as quality statements. These are the basic guidelines on which all other planning activities are developed. Generally quality statements are prepared once in the lifetime of an organization and therefore these should be prepared considering all quality aspects.

 

Vision Statement

Vision statement is a short declaration of what an organization want to attain at the end. Look at the vision statements of Microsoft company.

 

A computer on every desk and every home

 

The vision of Microsoft means that, Microsoft aims at speeding up computerization process, so that there will be a computer in every home. It is their vision and they are working for it. It is the ideal state or situation which the organization is expected to reach. Even if this ideal state may be far away, the organization is continually striving to achieve that ultimate target. Such vision statements are inspirational and timeless; and it should be shared among everyone in the organization.

 

Mission statement –

Mission statement explains what the company do to realize the vision statement. It explains the way the company wants to go to reach at the vision. This statement provides valuable guidelines to the persons in the organization, regarding what should be done and how it should be done.

 

Policy statement

Policies are the guidelines prepared as part of strategic planning. It explains what all can be done, and what must be the style of operations of the organisation. Policy statement is prepared on the basis of vision and mission statements.

Policy statement is the statement prepared by the organisation as part of the strategic planning. It explains the quality policy of the organisation and act as a guide for everyone in the organization. It provides a frame within which the organization can prepare their operational plans. Everyone should follow these guidelines, throughout their planning and doing actions.
